머 리 말

올해는 국토의 대동맥 역할을 수행하며 우리나라 경제성장과 문화교류에 이바지해온 우리나라

대표 고속도로인 경부고속도로가 개통 50주년을 맞이하는 뜻깊은 해입니다.

최근의 고속도로는 경제성장의 견인차 역할은 물론, 생활수준 향상에 따른 안전하고 쾌적한

여가활동 지원하는 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있으며, 미래고속도로 건설을 위한 제4차 산업혁명에

따른 기술적 발전까지 반영하고 있습니다.

이러한 고속도로의 성장 뒤에는 ‘우리는 길을 열어 사람과 문화를 연결하고 새로운 세상을

넓혀간다’는 기업이념과 함께 올해로 창사 51주년을 맞이하는 우리공사 직원들의 혼과 열정이 담긴

노력과 새로운 도로기술 개발 및 체계화를 위한 모든 기술인들의 관심과 의지가 있었기에

가능하다고 판단됩니다.

『도로설계요령』은 이러한 의지와 노력을 바탕으로 우리공사가 그동안 축적해 온 설계관련 지식과

경험을 집대성하여 1976년 최초 발간하였으며, 그 후 1992년 1차 개정 · 2001년 2차 개정을

거치면서 보다 체계적인 기틀을 갖추면서 우리나라 도로분야 최고의 설계지침서로 자리 잡았으나,

최근 .도로의 구조 · 시설기준에 관한 규칙.을 비롯한 각종 국가 기준 및 시방서 등의 변경 및

제4차 산업혁명 등 건설기술 발전에 따른 변화를 반영하기 위해 개정 필요성이 대두되어 약 4년에

걸친 작업을 통해 3차 개정본이 완성되었습니다.

본 요령이 고속도로 설계업무의 길잡이 역할과 동시에 많은 기술자들의 고민과 우수한

아이디어가 더해져 더욱더 안전하고 쾌적한 도로설계에 기여할 수 있기를 바라며, 발간을 위해

최선을 다해주신 집필진, 자문위원, 관계직원 등 참여자 모두의 노고에 깊이 감사드립니다.
